These days,computers are used everywhere .It is used for wide variety of applications and fields such as Business.Banking,Medicine and Health care.Education,Space technology,Transportation and Communication,Music and Entertainment and so on.This huge popularity of computers is due to its peculiar characteristics such as speed,accurancy,diligency,versality,storage capacity,automation and reliablility.
1. Business
Modern business cannot survive without computers.In business,computers are used for general operations such as day – to - day transactions,maintaining employee records,writing letters,communication co-workers and so on.They are also used for managerial tasks such as preparing budgets,forecasting buying selling patters and formulation of appropriate policies.
2) Banking
Banks are using computers for various customer services such as cheque verification,customer balance inquiry,printing of customer statements and so on.
MICR(Magnetic Ink Character Reaker) is a computer device which automates the verification of the customer cheques.
ATM(Automated Teller Machine)is a computer device used by banks for automatically providing banking services such as money deposit,money withdraw and query balance to the customers without involvement of bank staffs.3) Medicine and Health Care
Computers are extensively used in medicine and health care services.It is used for diagnosing patient illness,keeping the patient records and performing complex operations.Checking the heart- beat,blood-pressure and internal bone injury can be done with special computer devices such as X-ray,CT-Scan,ECG monitors etc,Pacemaker is a small computer device that is placed inside human body to help in maintaining heart beat.
