EDIT

This command displays a DOS screen editor that creates edits saves and prints ASCII text file.

Syntax

EDIT[drive:][path][filename]

Parameters

[drive:][path][filename]

It specifies the location of the file to open to create in the editor.

C:\EDIT FILE NAME(DOCUMENT. ETC)--------------PRESS ENTER

*DELTREE:-It is used to delete the all directories and files at once

Sysntax

DELTREE[DRIVE:][PATH][DIRECTORIES]

PARAMETERS

[DRIVE:][PATH][FILENAME]

It specifies the location of the directories and delete the all files and directories

C:\DELTREE DIRECTORIES NAME(RAM ETC) -------------PRESS ENTER

*TREE:-It is used to display the all files,subdirectories and directories in the tree structures

SYNTAX:-

TREE[DRIVE:][PATH][DIRECTORIES]

PARAMETERS

[DRIVE:][PATH][DIRECTORIES NAME]

It specifies the directories,subdirectories and files in the tree structures

C:\TREE DIRECTORIES NAME(HARI ETE)----------------PRES ENTER

COLOR:-It is used to display the all type of the color for the fonts and background

SYNTAX:-

COLOR[DRIVE:][PATH][COMMAND]

PARAMETERS

[DRIVE:][PATH][COMMAND]

It specifies the colors for the background and font

C:\COLOR NUMBER1[1,2.......],NUMBER2[1,2.........]----------PRESS ENTER

Source

Specifies the location from which you want to copy file or set of files.Source can consists a file name or path of filename .It is required.

Destination

Specifies the location to which you want to copy a file.Destination can consists of a file name or path of filename.

Example:-

C:\>COPY D:\WINDOWS\ABC.DATE:\BOSS --------press enter

It copies the file ABC.DAT of the WINDOWS subdirectory of D:drive to the BOSS sub directory of the E:drive

C:\COPY :\*.COM D:\-------------press enter

It copies all the fields having extension .COM extension from drive A: to drive D:

C:\COPY A:\SANU + SUNITA C:\ROSHAN---------press enter

To merge and copy the files SANU and SUNITA from A: drive to C: drive as name.
