EEUE Computer

ENIAC:-
ENIAC stands for Electronic Numerical Integrator and Calculator. It was the first electronic general purpose computer invented by Johan W Mauchly and John Presper Eckers in 1946 AD. It was 10 feet tall and occupied a space of 30*30 feet.It contained 1800 vacuum tubes as a main memory .It required about 150 kilowatts of power .It could perform many complex arithmetic operations in less than a second. The ENIAC was developed to generate ballistic firing tables for the artillery.

EDSAC

EDSAC stands for Electronic  Delay Strong Automatic Computer .It was the first operational stored program computer .It was started early in 1974 AD, in the Cambridge University by a team under the leadership of Professor Mourice Wilders,The machine executed its first programs in 1949 AD.It contained 3,000 vacuum tubes and it required 30 kilowatts of electric power.Computer programs were input using paper tape and output results were printed on a teletype printer.

UNIVAC

UNIVAC stands for Universal Automatic Computer. It was developed by Dr.John Manuchly and John Presper Ecker in 1951AD.It was the first general purpose electronic digital computer. The computer consisted of magnetic tape for data input and output. It had 10,000 vaccum tubes .This computer was used for data processing till 1963 AD in the USA.

EDVAC

EDVAC stands for Electronic Discrete Variable Automatic Computer .It was designed by Moore School Personnel and the Ballistics Research Laboratory of the US Army in 1952 AD.It was able to store programs .This concept was introduced by a Hungarian mathematician. John Von Newmann in 1947 AD.
All the above prominent contributions were significantly relevant to the emergence of the today’s computer .So the modern computer has come to this stage.
