On the Basis of working principle
The modern –days computers can be classified on the basis of types of signals they use for computation .This is also called working principle of the computer .Basically there are two kinds of signals,that can used by the computer.They are Analog signal Digital signals.
Digital Signal:-
The digital signal are those signals,which do not very continuously with time dimention they digital signals can only vary discretely along the time, forming the distinct levels.
High-level
Low -level
The digital signal gibe rise to two discrete two levels high and low which can be represented by 1 and 0 respectively.The change in signal can only be in discrete level i.e. 1 from 0 or 0 from 1 . All the intermediate levels between those high and low level are absent in these signals.Hence,it can better work on binary values.
Analog signals:-
The analog signals change countinuously from low level to high level passing through each of the intermediate levels in between,along the time spectrum.
