Mini Computer:- The mini computer is medium in size i.e.it is biggest than microcomputer and smaller than mainframe.Mini computer are less powerful than mainframe and more powerful than micro computer .The first mini computer was launched by Digital Equipment Corporation(DEC) in 1966 AD.
The mini computers generally support 50 terminals i.e. 50 persons can work concurrently with a single mini computer to perform data processing,programming,designing and other jobs.
Mini computer are used by government offices,industries,universities and organizations in a LAN environment to facilitate multiple users.But nowadays ,never micro computers are far better than old mini computers,Mini computers are used in National Computer Center
Some mini computers are:- IBM AS,HP3000,HP9000,Neek Plesley etc.
Micro Computer:-Micro computer is the smallest computer of all,It is based on microchips .It is commonly found in offices,homes,desktop etc.Mainframe can fill a whole room a whereas a microcomputer can be put on a table or a bag.Because of its extensive use in home,microcomputers are also known as Home computers or Personal Computers.
Micro computers come in different brand,model and size,Laptop computer and notebook are the popular micro computers.Though they are very small and light weight,they have storage and processing capacity.
Micro computers can communication with LAN(Local Area Network) or WAN(Wide Area Network) or WAN(Wide Area Network) with the help of communication devices like MODEM (Modular Demodulator),NIC(Network Interface Card) etc.
