FIFTH GENERATION OF COMPUTER(1991-INCOMPLETE)

    The fifth generation computer were developed after 1991 and moving towards the advance technology such as Artificial intelligence,very high speed, parallel processing etc.

    Fifth generation computer will combine hardware and software to produce artificial intelligence(AI).They will be able to process non-numerical information such as picture and graphs and will be able to understand natural languages.They will incorporate Ultra large Scale Integration(ULSI)

   The fifth generation computer project was conducted in Japan in 1981,where 300 computer scientists and engineers from 14 countries participated to discuss the features of the fifth generation computer .Japanese government emphasized Artificial intelligence,focusing on machine reasoning and logic programming language such as prolog.Intelligent knowledge based systems(IKBS) are the main elements of fifth generation computer.

                                              

   Though several outstanding outputs has been achieved on its development,the fifth generation computer are not realized as planned till today.But the program and outputs are very surprising .The computer development has taken other dimentions these days.Nano Technology are under development of some striking processing Hardware technology the fifth generation of computer will be fully realized.

Features of fifth generation  computer are:-

1. BIO chip and ULSI will be used as main components.
2. They will be to understand natural language and will have thinking power called Artificial Intelligence(AI).
3. Intelligent Programs can be used in the computer.
4. They will process non-numerical information such as picture and graphs.
5. Knowledge based problem solving techniques can be implemented.
6. They will use a super conductor as main storage .
7. They will be using automatic programming computational logic
8. They are not yet fully naterialized.,
